MPNA Events

MPNA strives to offer a variety of programming for our members and friends.  From workshops to playdates, social events to conferences, field trips to parties, we aim to connect nannies to each other and area resources.  Unless otherwise noted, events are open to any nanny regardless of membership.  Certain events, as per MPNA event policy, are only open to paid MPNA members.  From time to time, we will also post events hosted by community groups and organizations.  Many of these events require pre-registration or RSVP, so please be sure to utilize the links provided in the event information.

*Generally speaking, we meet on the third Thursday of the month for Coffee and Chat, locations vary.

*Mark your calendars!*
We are very excited to announce that we have been working with Kimber Bishop-Yanke of Kids Empowered to host a workshop on bullying and social aggression.  Kimber is a nationally recognized expert on the topic, providing trainings to parents, schools, administrators, and children on how to identify, manage, and derail bullying situations.  She also provides private coaching to children who are being victimized by their peers.  Due to limited space and the high demand for Kimber's workshops, we expect this workshop to fill quickly.   Cost will be $25 per person, scheduled for 2-4pm on Sunday,  February 12, 2012 in downtown Birmingham.  See below for details.

We hope you'll join us for...

Impact of Executive Function Deficits and AD/HD

Thursday, February 2, 2012

7:00 p.m.

Birmingham Covington School (BCS)

1525 Covington Road, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48301

Harriet Green, retired Birmingham teacher, author, tutor, and coach will be presenting strategies that take the sting out of work time with AD/HD students.  Ms. Green presents inspiring methods that will enable, engage, encourage, enrich, and empower the sometimes reluctant learner.  She will discuss activities that address the symptoms of Executive Function and AD/HD including working memory, organization, frustration, focus, and planning ahead.  The strategies and activities are creative, and harness AD/HD traits to make work time productive and tearless.  The suggestions are a result of Ms. Green's experiences teaching, tutoring, and working with students in a mental health clinic.

*Please note*  This is an event from Friends of Different Learners
